Misunderstood and underappreciated, the Humboldt River is still as much an enigma to most people today, at it was a hundred years ago. Mysteriously gliding across the Silver State through some of Nevada's most desolate regions, the river displays its beauty only to those willing to understand it. During an evening session in the summer of 2008, I was one of those fortunate enough to have witnessed this spectacular tempest.
