-- Mono Lake Collection -- Other lakes in the region get all the hype, the tourists, the fishing, and the scenery, while Mono Lake seems to sit all by itself as a lonely pale blue orb totally unrecognized in the desert. Thousands of people fly right on by Mono Lake everyday without second thought and hugely uninterested in this huge sea of salt and brine. Like everything... the times have changed. People are now seeing Mono Lake as it is, inspiring for every time of day and changing faces to accommodate its mood and ancient story of age and peril. Today after Bodie, Mono Lake is the number one photography destination along US 395. People are now seeing and appreciating the ancient lake as a symbol of survival and mystery. It's also the second oldest lake in the world. I am grateful to live near Mono Lake, to be able to see it whenever I want and enjoy all of its wonderful times of day.

"The Birds and animals, trees and grass, rocks, water and wind are all our allies.
They waken our senses, rouse our passions, renew our spirits, and fill us with vision, courage, and joy.... We are Mono Lake." - David Gaines
